Crimestoppers is targeting young people (aged 11 - 16) with a new improved micro-site against knife crime.

The charity aims to raise awareness of and ultimately reduce knife crime, by and against young people in Britain's communities.

The site contains:

Knife Drop - Fun viral game; the aim is to catch the knives and put them in the right boxes to get knives off the streets. The game also contains an email a friend element.

Competition - Your chance to win an iPod Shuffle until 15th September 2007.

Animatic - This tells the story of a young person that becomes a victim of knife crime. It show someone calling Crimestoppers anonymously, to pass on information, which is used by the police to arrest the perpretrators.

Knife law information and resource - Aimed at teachers and youth workers, this can be downloaded from the site with discussions about why young people carry knives, legal facts and figures and information about knives and first aid.

Although not widespread throughout the UK - crimes involving knives or blades are a serious problem particularly in many of Britain's urban communities.
